Pastoral Care

Faith is central in all Loreto schools around the globe.  As followers of Jesus Christ it is within our mission to spread the gospel mandated by Him.  Following in the footsteps of Mary Ward’s vision in carrying out the mission of Christ, we aim at cultivating the minds of Gods children that have been given to us in our schools by knowledge of virtue, to influence their will by the love of what is good and prepare them to be tabernacle for God.  In this way we turn them to be good citizens of the whole society, charitable, prayerful and filled with the love of God and a sense of duty, integrity and gracious manner.

In Loreto Mombasa we closely journey with all the children given to us guiding them through the pastoral lessons that are offered every week which are a way of instilling the religious and moral values that we all desire to see in our children.   Weekly mass and preparations for different sacraments such Baptism, first Holy Communion, Confirmation and Confessions are organized within the school program each year.

Days of prayers for pupils, teachers and non teaching staff also form part of our pastoral program.  Prayers like the Rosary, Way of the cross that is done during the Lenten period; weekly teachers/staff prayers complete the care of faith in our school.

It is my prayer then that we shall continue and endeavor to “fill the minds of the children entrusted to us in our Institution with everything that is true, everything that is noble” (Philippians 4:9)
