Every year, just as the syllabus dictates,  Standard six class undertakers an educational trip to the Rift valley.  This year this trip was planned as from 17th August 2014  22nd August 2014.

Pupil learnt a lot along the way to Nairobi where they had a stop.  In Nairobi, pupils visited Meteorological Department at Dagoretti where they learnt a lot about weather observation ,recording and presentation.

Zanele Mkula and Peter Kolenyo got an opportunity of presenting the days weather at the studio.  The next stop was at The  Parliament Buildings where they were taken through the law making process and functions of Parliament.

In Nakuru ,pupils visited Lake Nakuru National Park before proceeding to Nyahururu to have a glimpse of Thomas falls and agricultural activities taking place there not forgetting The Menengai Craters.

The trip is never complete without visiting Lake Bogoria to boil eggs at the Hot Springs and checking out irrigation scheme at Marigat in Baringo County.

This year, due to the rains experienced  in Nakuru, the pupils never got an opportunity to have a swim at the Lake Kivu Resort where they were staying.  On our way back to Nairobi, the pupils visited the Diatomite mining site at Kariandusi and the Pre-historic Museum where they learnt about the evolution of the man.

We want to acknowledge the following pupils who were singled out by the facilitators as  the best pupils during the learning sessions:

    Mary Keni    -    6B
    Natalie Mwaka-    6B
    Lanoi Tolu    -    6G
    Faith Okwi    -    6G
    Peter Kolenyo    6B
    Margaret Olewe    6B
    Ivy Matheka    -    6B

The school awarded them.  We also want to encourage others to make use of opportunities granted to them to get as much information as possible.

In a nut shell, it was a rich educational trip.  We believe all the pupils will use all they have learnt to improve their performance in academic work.

We want to thank the parents for sacrificing for the learners to be able to see what other Kenyans are doing.

If you want to know some of the life lessons learnt, just ask  them of what they encountered at Kariandusi and Marigat.
