TEACHERS - PUPILS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

Every year, teachers, parents, pupils and our support staff undergo capacity building programme organized by the P.T.A with the help of the school.

Dr. Muyabo, a visiting lecturer on child development and psychology had the opportunity to share his great wealth of experience with parents, teachers and pupils. His two visits to our school were instrumental in bridging the gap between the three main stake holders (teachers, parents and pupils) on how to co-exist with one another for a smooth learning process.

Mrs. Protasia Gathoni gave the teachers a two day workshop lecture on child therapy and developmental psychology. Her lecture too, gave the teachers a hands on experience in dealing with learners with special needs. The school P.T.A. committee has been in the forefront in supporting the welfare of the teachers and pupils.

The teachers have had the opportunity of attending the overnight (otherwise famous) Mnarani Seminar followed by the recent Sai rock seminars, the facilitator (Mr. Njoroge Kago) was able to take teachers through strategic planning and target analysis. I cannot forget to highlight the relentless effort shown by the shanzu tutors on their frequent assessment visits and workshops; on lesson preparation and presentation, classroom management and pupil evaluation. These and many more effective in our work and grow together as a team.

Worth mentioning are the splendid trip teachers have made to various destinations. These have come through a positive gesture from the P.T.A for the good result always achieved by the school.

Here in Loreto we have the families where pupils can identify with their school fathers and mothers. These families have helped our pupils grow up embracing family values not only at home but at school as well.

In conclusion please remember this: nothing is impossible to a willing heart.
