LORETO'S CHARITY PROGRAM
Reaching out to the less fortunate
“For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in: I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me”. (Mathew 25: 35-36 )
The above Biblical quotation is alive in Loreto. The school sees to it that every term pupils give donations in terms of:
Newspaper collection – an Old tradition.
Pupils bring old Newspapers which are collected then sold and the proceeds is given to the little sisters of the poor Nyumba ya Wazee – Tudor) who take care of the aged.
Charity Walk –
The children are always encouraged to take part to assist mainly other children. These include Mater Heart Run, SOS, Wemathon etc.
This year the school participated in the Mater Heart Run which was organized for the first time in Mombasa.
The school was able to raise Kshs. 215,916 towards the Heart Run. We thank all the children who made and effort and collected the above money in order to make a difference in a child out there suffering from heart diseases.
Food and clothes donations –
The offerings that we receive from children every Friday during Mass in a form of cash, clothes and foodstuff are given to the less fortunate every end of term.
God bless Loreto Mombasa.
